Microsoft claims that its Advanced Threat Protection breaks this ransomware chain but this hasn't stopped 2,144 infections over the past couple of months. Apple had been leading Samsung in this metric since 2008 and includes chips in TV, PCs and other devices apart from smartphones. Samsung, Apple and others such as Huawei design and build their own chips for use primarily in their own devices.
